Business Development Representative

The Role

We’re looking for a driven, personable Business Development Representative (BDR) to own top-of-funnel pipeline generation. Through outbound prospecting, IT channel partner engagement, and a consistent digital presence, you’ll open doors — and hand off qualified opportunities to senior leadership to close.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Cold call, email, and follow up with prospective business customers to introduce ModernWorks solutions
  • Build and nurture relationships with IT resellers, MSPs, and technology partners who can refer or co-sell alongside us
  • Qualify leads and book discovery calls and demos directly on leadership’s calendar
  • Draft and publish regular posts on the ModernWorks LinkedIn page to build brand awareness and generate inbound interest
  • Research target accounts, build prospect lists, and execute multi-touch outreach sequences
  • Keep CRM activity, follow-ups, and pipeline data accurate and up to date

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years in a sales, BDR/SDR, or customer-facing role; telecom, IT, or managed services experience is a strong asset
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills — clear, professional, and persuasive
  • Comfortable on the phone; you pick it up without being asked
  • Familiar with LinkedIn as a business development tool
  • Self-starter who owns their own follow-up cadence and doesn’t need handholding
  • Organized and detail-oriented; experienced with a CRM or sales tracking tool
  • Genuine interest in technology and how businesses use it
  • Grit and resilience — you handle objections, stay motivated, and keep going
  • Valid work authorization in Canada required
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet and a distraction-free home workspace
  • Must be available during standard EST business hours
