SIPWorks is an IP VoIP PBX telephone system developed by ModernWorks. It is a truly modern communications system that is server based and integrates tightly with your data network. On the right side of this page you can view many of the features found in SIPWorks, along with a brief description of each feature. All of these features are included in the SIPWorks Professional and SIPWorks Mini products.

SIPWorks Professional

SIPWorks Professional has the following features making it a truly enterprise class communications system:

  • 4U rackmount server
  • mirrored hard drives for data redundancy
  • redundant power supplies
  • base system has 4000 hours of recording time
  • can scale to 200 extensions
  • typical power consumption < 100 Watts
  • nightly offsite backup available

If more than 200 extensions are required multiple SIPWorks servers can be networked together seemlessly. SIPWorks Professional is our flagship product and currently integrates with other application servers such as CRM for screen pops and click to dial out of email. At the moment a separate CRM server, for example, is required for integration to the SIPWorks system. In the future you will be able to purchase application "software blades" which will be directly installable on the SIPWorks Professional server, providing tight application integration to the telephone system. This will give the capability of adding typically expensive software applications at an economical cost, as a separate server will not be required. The future of telephony communications is application integration and SIPWorks Professional is ready for the future now!

SIPWorks Mini

The SIPWorks Mini is our way of allowing smaller businesses to have all of the features of an Enterprise Class telephone system, with a price tag that is more in line with the budget of a smaller company. It still has many of the same features as the SIPWorks Professional system including:

  • small form factor case
  • mirrored hard drives for data redundancy
  • single power supply
  • up to 20 extensions
  • 45 Watts maximum power consumption
  • nightly offsite backup available

Benefits

SIPWorks consists of the following benefits:

  • Asterisk is used as the core telephony engine
  • Runs on a Linux-based server platform which lends itself to a very secure stable system as compared to other VoIP systems which run on Windows
  • Utilizes an SSL encrypted web interface for both system administration and access to personal voicemail and telephone features
  • Can utilize analog lines, PRI/T1, or low cost SIP trunks for connectivity to the outside world
  • Uses SIP telephones (manufacturer independant), Nortel Unistim telephones, analog telephones, and even proprietary Nortel, Avaya, or Toshiba digital telephones via an external gateway
  • No licensing fees - this alone greatly reduces the purchase price of a new SIPWorks system and allows unimpeded system expansion
  • Connect remote or home offices directly via the Internet - your home office phone is now an extension on the company system - pandemic plan
  • Multiple SIPWorks telephone systems located in separate offices can utilize the Internet for free office to office communication - can use coordinated dial plan
  • Three versions: SIPWorks Professional, SIPWorks Mini, and SIPWorks Hosted
